QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to provide high level administrative support to QBuild. This may include undertaking a range of business research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of QBuild services, in line with governance and procurement best practice and QBuild operational objectives.

The role will work as part of a team, but also autonomously and will often be required to work within tight time constraints. The role may also be required to work across a range of QBuild business teams as operationally required.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure effective and efficient internal and external correspondence, monitor and manage incoming and outgoing phone queries in a professional manner and ensure general administrative functions and activities are conducted with high attention to detail.
  • Maintaining the integrity of QBCC registration licensing details, managing and coordinating systems to ensure suppliers' licenses and insurances are current and provide regular reports on suspended/cancelled licences.
  • Willingness to work within a fast-paced environment with KPI's and mechanisms to measure and monitor performance and contribute innovative thinking and fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Review and maintain policy and procedure documentation, training manuals, work instructions and registers, ensuring high attention to detail, quality assurance and best practice.
  • High attention to detail when drafting and compiling documents and reports or updating records in relevant information systems (ie. Ellipse and Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to connect with industry, local suppliers and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of customer services.
  • Be dedicated to customer satisfaction with a results-driven mindset, to achieve an outcome which achieves both customer and organisational objectives.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • High level Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Background and experience in Queensland Government Procurement Governance practices.
  • Experience with Ellipse or IRIS systems knowledge (highly regarded)
