The Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Policy Officer to join either the Industrial Relations Policy and Legislation (IRPL) team. Your role
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will:
- Develop high-quality, strategic policy advice on industrial relations matters.
- Undertake in-depth research and policy analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Monitor national and international policy trends to inform Queensland's legislative approach.
- Work on complex, sensitive issues, preparing briefings and submissions for senior executives and the Minister.
- Build productive relationships across government and with key industry and community stakeholders.
- Support and, at times, lead end-to-end policy and legislative projects fromconcept to implementation.

Key responsibilities
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Preparing ministerial briefing notes, discussion papers, Cabinet submissions, and policy documents.
- Monitoring emerging issues and developments in Queensland and other jurisdictions.
- Providing policy options and recommendations on emerging issues.
- Collaborating across teams to ensure effective policy development and coordination.
- Leading smaller legislative or policy reform projects and supporting senior staff on more complex initiatives and consulting with relevant stakeholders including other Government departments and industry stakeholders.
