The Executive Manager, Internal Communications is a key manager and leader within the Media and Communications branch, responsible for overseeing the strategic engagement between QAS senior leaders, QAS staff, and key stakeholders across the QAS.
The role enables targeted partnerships and effective dissemination of information to staff audiences, which supports the enhancement of the QAS brand and cultivates a positive organisational culture.
The role is responsible for all aspects of the internal communications unit and ensures that communications are delivered in line with the QAS strategic objectives, values and vision and as determined by the executive leadership team.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated capability to lead, manage and inspire a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of communications professionals and achieve required organisational outcomes, whilst aligning to QAS core values as a leader with the highest levels of integrity, approachability, and strategic vision.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in contemporary, best practice and emerging corporate and internal and online communications strategies and trends and the proven ability to effectively manage a proactive communications portfolio within a complex, service-based organisation.
- Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication expertise and exemplary interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to plan, develop, implement, and review corporate communications initiatives and programs to support organisational and government objectives within a geographically diverse public sector environment.
- Superior conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with proven high level program management skills with an innovative and strategic approach to service delivery and a demonstrated commitment to excellent client service and continuous quality improvement.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
- The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
- The ability to travel intrastate by air is required.
- Work outside of normal hours and on-call is required.
- Whilst not mandatory, a tertiary qualification in the communications field or equivalent experience (e.g., Media liaison, journalism, public relations, marketing) and/or management will be highly regarded.
