We're on the hunt for a dynamic and organised individual to provide top-notch admin, finance, and HR support to our Technical Support unit. You'll manage databases, handle records, assist with event coordination, and be the go-to for routine enquiries and correspondence. This is a job-sharing role, so strong communication and collaboration skills are a must—you’ll be working closely with your counterpart to ensure seamless support.

Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks (GBR&MP) Region are excited to share an incredible opportunity for an Administration Officer to join the team on a permanent (0.4 FTE) basis.

As one of the six regions of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the GBR&MP Region delivers conservation and management activities across land and sea including implementing the Reef Joint Field Management Program.

We're after a proactive, detail-focused professional to provide essential support across admin, finance, and HR functions for the Technical Support team in the Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks Region. Technical Support is one of four units in the region, focused on aligning programs with long-term goals and meeting annual performance targets.

In this role, you'll be the point of contact for day-to-day queries and play a key part in helping the team stay on top of operational and strategic priorities.

Role focus:

  • Manage records, reports, and office assets using departmental databases and systems.
  • Provide timely admin, HR, and financial information, including tracking invoices and payments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and work procedures.
  • Provide a high level of administrative support to all Technical Support team members.
  • Communicate regularly and efficiently with staff at all levels and external clients.

To be considered you must hold the following qualifications:

  • An unrestricted automatic or manual driver's licence

There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position however, formal qualifications in Business would be highly regarded.
