As the Senior Executive Officer, you contribute to the Office of the Director-General team by providing a high-standard of executive support to the department’s Director- General, focused primarily on diary and inbox support and management, meeting preparation, travel and event management, and other projects as required. This is your opportunity to work closely with the Director-General and other senior executives in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Your contribution and key responsibilities:
• Provide confidential secretarial and executive support to the Director-General in a fast-paced, sensitive environment.
• Manage the Director-General's diary, ensuring effective time management and punctual attendance at meetings.
• Monitor and manage the Director-General's inbox to address urgent matters promptly and ensure proper filing.
• Liaise with senior management to provide timely and accurate information, including meeting briefs.
• Coordinate meetings and events for the Director-General in collaboration with senior executives, Ministerial staff, and external stakeholders.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with the Minister's office, other Queensland Government executives, and industry leaders.
• Handle phone calls, enquiries, and requests with professionalism.
• Arrange and manage all travel requirements, including itineraries, bookings, and expense reconciliation.
• Maintain effective information management systems for the Director-General.
• Undertake assigned projects and provide research support as needed.
• Collaborate with the Office of the Director-General team to ensure efficient operations and provide support to colleagues when required
• Uphold high standards of diplomacy, discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
What we are looking for:
• Detailed knowledge, understanding and experience in the delivery of high-quality, professional executive support to senior executive in a high profile environment
• Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to think ahead
• Experience in working under pressure with the ability to maintain a professional and calm approach to problem solving
• Exceptional time management and task prioritisation skills
• An individual who works well both independently and within a high- functioning team
• Positivity, discretion and confidentiality
