Rehabilitation Medicine Registrar

Department of Rehabilitation are looking for several Registrars - Rehabilitation Medicine to join their team from February 2026 to January 2027 for 6 to 12 months. This position is to provide clinical care under the supervision and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and medical board requirements in order to practice as a specialist. This role involves working within the multidisciplinary team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Department of Rehabilitation Unit. Registrars will gain experience in managing patients with acute and chronic injuries.

About the Role

Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service (QSCIS) Registrar – 3 positions

  • This role involves working within the multidisciplinary team at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Queensland Spinal Cord Injuries Service. Registrars will gain experience in managing patients with acute and chronic spinal cord injuries. Two inpatient registrar positions are available per term in the Spinal Injuries Unit (SIU). One QSCIS community registrar position is available per term, working with the Spinal Outreach Team (SPOT) and Transitional Rehabilitation Program (TRP).

Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service Registrar – 2 positions

  • Two registrar positions are available per term, covering both inpatient (BIRU, Jasmine Unit) and community services (ABI-TRS, Day Hospital), with registrars swapping roles at 3 months.

In-reach Rehabilitation Service Registrar – 1 position

  • This service provides early multi-disciplinary general in-reach rehabilitation to patients on acute wards at PAH using a shared care model. The goal is to improve patient outcomes by facilitating timely access to rehabilitation. One full-time registrar position is available per term.
