The team’s work is heavily focused on working with environmental legislation and associated guidance material. Managers in the Team assist in implementing the strategic direction and work program for the unit.

This includes the provision of high-quality support services and products to officers working in the Divisions assessment teams and the industry sectors they regulate under Queensland’s Environmental legislation.

This Manager role is with Queensland's environmental regulator, the Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR) division of the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.

On a day-to-day basis the team's work program spans a wide variety of tasks from assisting with officer and industry enquiries to understand legislative requirements, to drafting guidance material, developing application forms and statutory notice templates, maintaining departmental web pages, drafting implementation and training material to support changes in legislation, providing advice into proposed changes to legislation and operational policies, and drafting senior management team and executive briefings. This role includes working with departmental officers who work with many industry sectors including minerals mining, coal mining and petroleum and gas, and other industries such as landfills, quarries, sewage treatment, chemical industries, manufacturing, and energy generation.
