Right to Information Privacy Records Management and Redress; Legal, Right to Information, Redress and Records; Corporate Services; Brisbane
Corporate Services’ Vision is to provide timely, innovative and efficient corporate services. Corporate Services includes the RTI, Privacy, Records Management and Redress area. The Information Access and Amendment Unit sits within this area and is responsible for the management and coordination of the release of departmental documents in accordance with the Right to Information Act 2009.
Your role is to liaise, consult and negotiate with members of the community who seek access to departmental documents and to make decisions on matters regarding access and amendment to departmental documents in accordance with the Right to Information Act 2009, the Information Privacy Act 2009 and administrative release. This role requires integrity, discretion and tact in dealing with information of a sensitive and confidential nature.

Principal responsibilities of this role
- Liaise, consult, negotiate and provide expert advice to internal and external clients and organisations in relation to specific requests under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009 or administrative release.
- Exercise decision making power under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009 and in accordance with administrative release guidelines, regarding access and amendment to information recorded on departmental documents.
- Contribute to the development of appropriate Right to Information, Information Privacy and administrative release procedures and practice standards to ensure the ongoing efficient and effective implementation of Right to Information, Information Privacy and administrative release in the department.
- Contribute to the preparation for appearances before the Information Commissioner when decisions are subject to external review.
- Maintain an awareness of recent government developments and trends to ensure best practice Right to Information and administrative release decisions are made.
Delegations
The position is delegated, pursuant to section 30 of the Right to Information Act 2009 to make decisions on the release and amendment of documents of the department.
