Senior Decision Maker

The Senior Decision Maker is required to undertake the role of Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy (IP) decision maker and to assist with the mentoring of decision makers in the Department. The role is also responsible for contributing to the identification of business improvements and providing advice to internal and external clients.

- Exercise decision making power under the Right to Information 2009 and Information Privacy Act 2009 and in accordance with administrative release guidelines regarding access and amendment to personal affairs information recorded on departmental documents.
- Liaise, consult, negotiate and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to requests under the Right to Information Act 2009, the Information Privacy Act 2009 or administrative release and the requirements and application of right to information and information privacy in the Department.
- Responsible for assisting with the identification, development and implementation of appropriate right to information and information privacy procedures and practice standards to ensure the ongoing efficient and effective implementation of right to information and information privacy in the Department.
- Responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and ongoing support of administrative and information systems required to ensure the Department meets the legislative requirements of the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009.
- Assist with mentoring officers in their development to ensure the necessary skills exist within the team to respond to client needs.
