Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks (GBR&MP) Region are excited to share an incredible opportunity for a Project Manager to join the team on a temporary basis.
As one of the six regions of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the GBR&MP Region delivers conservation and management activities across land and sea including implementing the Reef Joint Field Management Program in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. Additionally, the Region oversees the state's southern marine parks - Great Sandy Marine Park and Moreton Bay Marine Park.
The Project Manager leads key initiatives across the GBR&MP Region, working closely with Traditional Owners, stakeholders, and government partners on projects like First Nations partnerships, regional communications, and the Raine Island Recovery Project. It provides strategic advice, supports operational delivery, and helps fulfil Queensland's commitments under the Reef Joint Field Management Program.
Role focus:
• Support the successful delivery of projects aligned with the Reef Joint Field Management Program, including planning, reporting, and performance tracking.
• Manage program budgets, funding submissions, grant compliance, revenue, and auditing processes.
• Assist in developing and coordinating programs such as pest and fire management, capital works, visitor education, and business planning.
• Build strong partnerships with Traditional Owners, communities, stakeholders, and agencies to support program outcomes and provide expert policy and legislative advice.
To be considered you must hold:
• An unrestricted manual driver's licence.
There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position however, formal qualifications in project management would be highly regarded.
