As our Data Analyst you will:
• Maintain, grow and continuously improve our flagship externally facing data platform www.dpi.qld.gov.au/datafarm
• Contribute to good data governance and support our business to transition data storage and analysis to the Azure data platform.
• Provide technical advice/data/support for Dept business units with regard to agricultural economic impacts, using technical data skills.
• Design data solutions & perform data cleansing to enable automation of data allowing for visualisation of complex data sets for both internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical assistance to colleagues on approaches to manage data efficiently and effectively.
• Assist internal/external clients in the identification, sourcing and analysis of statistical information.

About the role
As our Data Analyst (Economics), you will:
• Maintain, grow and continuously improve our flagship externally facing data platform www.dpi.qld.gov.au/datafarm
• Contribute to good data governance and support our business to transition data storage and analysis to the Azure data platform.
• Provide technical advice/data/support for Departmental business units with regard to agricultural economic impacts, using technical data skills.
• Design data solutions and perform data cleansing to enable automation of data allowing for visualisation of complex data sets for both internal and external audiences.
• Provide technical assistance to colleagues on approaches to manage data efficiently and effectively.
• Assist internal and external clients in the identification, sourcing and analysis of statistical information.
• Contribute to briefing notes, questions on notice and media enquires that require data analysis input.
• Prepare industry forecasts for DPI's AgTrends publication.
• Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of DPI data services working as part of a team to improve our data capabilities and offerings, via application of your technical skills and knowledge.
You may also have

• Data modelling and/or predictive modelling
• Research and analysis
• Problem solving
• Knowledge of Azure data platforms, PowerBI, DAX, SQL Server, economic modelling/analysis techniques
