About you 

Appointments in the CCC are merit-based and will be assessed by looking at what you have done previously—the knowledge, skills and experience you have built, your potential for development, and your personal qualities which align with the leadership competencies and the CCC's values.

  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or Accounting from a recognised tertiary institution and membership of either Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia are mandatory requirements for this position.
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations is highly regarded.
  • Qualifications acquired from an overseas educational institution will only be accepted where the qualification has been recognised to an equivalent level in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.

For this role, we will consider how well you demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including leading by example, coordinating and motivating others to deliver organisational objectives, exercising sound judgement, and managing difficult negotiations while maintaining effective and professional working relationships.
  • Extensive experience in effectively undertaking complex financial investigations and providing financial investigative advice. Experience in a law enforcement or regulatory environment or civil confiscation function is highly desirable. Experience in undertaking investigations involving digital assets is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in researching and analysing complex, financial and factual issues, making high quality decisions and judgements, and meeting deadlines in a high-pressure work environment.
  • High level oral and written communication skills including the demonstrated ability to present complex financial and other information concisely to a non-financial audience. Demonstrated ability to present complex financial information, in and for use in, criminal or civil proceedings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and support a positive team culture which focusses on quality outcomes, ensures compliance with regulatory frameworks, and manages risks that may impede success.
