About Us:
The Queensland Productivity Commission (the Commission) provides independent policy advice to the Queensland Government on economic, social and regulatory issues to improve productivity, economic growth and living standards in Queensland.
The Commission is an independent statutory body established under the Queensland Productivity Act 2025 and is governed by a Board comprising the Productivity Commissioner (Chair) and up to three other Commissioners.

The Commission has two divisions:
• Inquiry and Research: undertakes public inquiries into a wide range of economic, social and regulatory matters. The division also conducts and publishes research on key economic and social issues.
• Office of Best Practice Regulation: provides independent advice to government on the costs, benefits and risks of regulation and administers the Queensland Government's Better Regulation Policy and the Regulator Performance Framework.

How you will contribute:
You will undertake objective and rigorous economic and policy analysis and provide high quality advice on a range of issues. You will also contribute to the Commission's projects and work programs through planning, reporting, information management and business improvement activities.

What you will bring to the role:
We are seeking a proactive economist with a sound background in economics, especially microeconomics, and interest in policy analysis and review. Skills in quantitative research, regulatory impact analysis, econometrics, law or other social sciences are also highly valued.
