QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing environmental management and legislative compliance services to support water and waste water infrastructure operation, maintenance and project delivery.
Duties and skills involved:
- Lead in the delivery of environmental management services with particular emphasis on water management and conservation.
- Offer contemporary advice and solutions to environmental management issues through strong research and development skills
- Adopt a professional and client focused approach to work at all times and operate within the boundaries of organisational processes and legal and public constraints.
- Take responsibility for meeting objectives when progressing work and persists with and focuses on achieving quality objectives even in difficult circumstances.
- Work collaboratively with team members, clients and contractors and is capable of managing large multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Work effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders including clients, contractors, consultants and business unit staff through well developed communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
Additional requirements (mandatory/desirable) It is a mandatory requirement of this role that the successful applicant possesses a degree level qualification in Environmental Planning / Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering / Environmental Management or another relevant environmental study / discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or agreed equivalent as determined by the Chief Executive.
