The G0 Ward (Acute Assessment, Stroke and Medical) at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Facilitator to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Facilitator is primarily accountable for supporting, orientating, and mentoring postgraduate nurses and new staff and existing staff. Clinical Nurse Facilitator's practice autonomously, provide leadership, apply critical thinking skills, and have a strong focus on enacting teaching strategies. Clinical facilitation is delivered at the point of clinical care to support clinicians in achieving skill acquisition and practice development. The role's objectives are to support nurse advancement in line with the framework for lifelong learning, help staff members fulfill training obligations, and aid in their acquisition of the knowledge and abilities necessary to deliver complex medical and stroke care in line with the best evidence-based practices.
About the Team
The G0 Ward (Acute Assessment, Stroke and Medical Unit) provides nursing care to patients with a wide variety of acute medical conditions, acute stroke, and exacerbations of chronic disease as well as palliative care. The unit consists of 22 funded beds inclusive of 4 Stroke beds. The unit has the capability to flex to 26 beds if required. Our services are designed to be client-centred and recovery-focused, and our goal is to provide educational leadership and develop lifelong learning opportunities that encourage best practice and practice development among all staff members.
