Our Government Employee Housing (GEH) business unit efficiently and actively manages a portfolio of approximately 3100 government employee housing residences to support the delivery of government services across Queensland.
Reporting to the Manager – GEH Capital Programs, the Senior Asset Manager is responsible for supporting the capital program components of the GEH portfolio to facilitate its smooth and efficient delivery and management across the State.

What you will be doing:
• Provide high level support in the planning, delivery and management of Capital projects in accordance with established programs and strategies.
• Managing and reporting on property related transactions including valuations, asset transfers, land tenure issues, native title assessments and subdivisions.
• Providing a high level of strategic asset management knowledge, leadership and advice to the employee housing team to ensure optimum asset performance over the short, medium and long term.
• Undertaking research and strategic analysis of the portfolio including housing supply and demand, property market trends, feasibility studies and development opportunities and constraints to ensure best practice asset management.
• Researching and developing written correspondence, briefings, reports and information papers for ministerial and departmental use.
• Providing sound policy advice to other agencies, stakeholders and professionals across government and industry in relation to employee housing.
• Undertaking special projects as directed by senior management and contribute actively as a member of the Capital team.
• Representing the Department at senior level intra and inter-departmental meetings and forums.
• Manage and provide detailed analysis and reporting from Microsoft excel using macros, V-look up queries etc as required by senior management.
• Competent communication skills and demonstrated experience in communicating with managers, staff and external stakeholders on matters relating to property and asset management.
• Assist in managing the timely delivery of required reporting, executive correspondence and briefing material to senior management.
