Join Queensland Treasury as an Executive Director within the Energy Division on a short term contract. This is a unique opportunity to lead a specialised team to deliver affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions that benefit Queensland households and businesses. Your leadership will influence critical aspects of Queensland's energy governance, legislative frameworks, and social impact management, ensuring the state's energy sector remains secure, efficient, and globally competitive.
Be at the forefront of Queensland's energy transformation, where your strategic vision and unrivalled expertise will guide the development of integrated systems, support renewable energy initiatives, and empower communities as Queensland moves towards a sustainable energy future.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and refinement of governance, legislative, and policy frameworks, including the Priority Transmission Investment framework, to deliver efficient, least-cost energy solutions while supporting Queensland's government priorities.
- Drive strategic, high-quality advice on energy governance, legislation, and social licence to the Under Treasurer and senior energy executives, ensuring balanced strategies that account for community and social considerations.
- Oversee the development of innovative programs and initiatives that shape the long-term sustainability of Queensland's energy sector, focusing on community outcomes and renewable energy zones.
- Build and sustain exceptional partnerships between government-owned corporations, regulated entities, and public and private stakeholders to enhance coordinated energy policy and affordable energy delivery.
- Represent the Queensland Government in high-profile forums, advocating for Queensland's interests in energy networks and infrastructure developments.
- Drive delivery of the Government's priorities, ensuring allocated resources are effectively managed, performance standards met, and efficiencies achieved.
What experience you will bring:
- Expertise across the private, public, and/or not-for-profit sectors with a strong background in strategy, governance, and policy implementation in the energy domain.
- Proven ability to establish and foster productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, building trust and collaboration across government and industry.
- Extensive experience as a transformative leader, adept at driving change in complex environments while building a confident, capable workforce.
- A demonstrated history of success as a senior leader in large, multifaceted organisations, with exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
