Working in the Communications and Public Engagement branch, you'll play a key role in providing a deeper understanding of Queenslander's perceptions, attitudes and behaviours. You'll work across projects and portfolio areas and with a range of functional teams, helping to inform communication strategies and campaigns, and to shape our performance reporting. You'll craft key performance measures and help us track our projects. We're looking for a flexible team player who can handle multiple tasks at once and is passionate about continual improvement.

As part of our Communications and Public Engagement (CaPE) team, you'll play a key role in delivering insights that inform decision-making and enhance the effectiveness of our communication and engagement strategies.
As the Senior Research & Insights Officer, you will:
1. Coordinate and deliver primary and secondary research activities, including surveys, market analysis, audience profiling, and behaviour analysis.
2. Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to provide actionable insights and recommendations that inform performance reporting, communication strategies and other departmental activities.
3. Coordinate the CaPE performance reporting framework, including delivering reports, develop and implement tools, templates, and dashboards to track project progress and performance.
4. Support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and best practice approaches for measuring and evaluating project outcomes.
5. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to share insights and ensure alignment with departmental goals.
We're looking for someone who:
1. Has demonstrated experience in research design, data collection, and analysis with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods.
2. Can simplify complex data into meaningful insights to inform decision-making and behaviour change initiatives.
3. Is skilled in creating and using data capture and evaluation tools, and guiding stakeholders in their adoption.
4. Has strong analytical and data analysis skills, able to present complex information in an accessible manner.
5. Can build and maintain effective relationships with team members, stakeholders and external suppliers.

7. Is committed to continual improvement, a growth mindset, and is not afraid of change.
