The Mackay Hospital Expansion Team at the Mackay Base Hosptial is seeking applications for a Project Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
This position will provide project management support and coordination of project activities to the Mackay Hospital Expansion Team to ensure successful delivery of Mackay Hospital Expansion Projects. It will contribute to the effective management of the project in collaboration with senior management, project team members and respective facility stakeholders ensuring best project outcomes are achieved in line with Mackay Health Service approved project management methodologies.
This role provides complex administrative assistance, advice, and guidance to support the delivery of health infrastructure planning, operational commissioning, and/or portfolio management activities for the Mackay community.
About the Team
Join a dedicated team delivering the $250 million Mackay Hospital Expansion Project, part of the Queensland Government's Health and Hospitals Plan. This major project will boost Mackay Base Hospital's capacity by 31%, adding 128 overnight beds and 12 day-infusion beds to support growing community needs. It also includes a new multi-storey carpark with over 1,100 spaces and a rooftop helipad, improving access, safety, and infrastructure for patients, staff, and emergency services. A new community-based birth centre will also be delivered as part of the program, enhancing access to maternity services in the region.
