As a Principal Occupational Therapist, you will provide leadership, professional supervision and support to the Department’s Occupational Therapists who provide a vital service to customers assessing their current and future health, safety and independence requirements and identify solutions for appropriate housing and modifications.

What you will be doing:
• Coordinate and monitor the delivery of occupational therapy services across the state and ensure staffing resources are directed to areas of highest need.
• Professionally supervise and provide support to a large team of occupational therapists across the state, oversee and deliver professional induction/training and
direct occupational therapists to resolve complex issues and deliver holistic, placebased and trauma-informed services
• Lead policy development, strategy and practice reviews and contribute to research to ensure the provision of quality OT services
• Lead and manage collaborative working relationships across the department and with external agencies to deliver best practice OT services and effective customer outcomes
• In exceptional circumstances, undertake high quality and responsive occupational therapy assessments and reports for customers.
• Lead and establish and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health & Safety.
This position services the Northern Region of Queensland.
