Manager

The Manager leads a team responsible for the functions of Planning, Intelligence and Reporting, Communications & Training and Development. This includes delivery of critical planning prior to, during, and post a disaster activation, analysis of intelligence to guide strategic decision making, and provision of key information to support timely incident communication and operational effectiveness.
The Manager will work closely with the Director in delivering a wide range of resilience building initiatives, projects and events that contribute to developing the Community Recovery workforce and support communities to be resilient.
This function delivers a range of internal and external media and communications tools and activities that deliver key information to Queensland communities, drive strategic communication and branding, and promote internal engagement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
• Developing Communication and Social media campaigns and strategies to deliver key messaging prior to, during and after a disaster event.
• Managing the Smart Service Queensland relationship, contract, scripting and key insights to ensure optimal delivery of services.
• Delivering a holistic Workforce Management function that enables the recruitment, retention, onboarding, training, deployment and recognition of the Ready Reserve and Alumni workforce.
• Deliver a training function to the Ready Reserve Workforce, Community Recovery and temporary agency staff to develop skills in all functions that enables Service Delivery to affected communities.
• Support the Director, Strategy and Engagement in the delivery of projects that develop resiliency within Queensland communities.
• During a disaster event supporting the Director, Strategy and Engagement to enable the delivery of grant management and emotional support to affected communities.
• Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
Role Specific/Technical Skills:
• During a disaster activation you may be required to work extra hours for an extended period of time and participate in a five days on / two days off staggered roster where your days off may not be Saturday and/or Sunday.
• Some intra-state travel may be required.
