The Ecotourism team lead and manage strategic ecotourism projects and programs across Queensland, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure they meet conservation goals while boosting a sustainable and regenerative tourism industry.
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and well-organised individual to provide administrative and project support to the Ecotourism Team and its Program Director.
This role is pivotal in the effective functioning of the team, including high quality and confidential administrative services, and will play an important role in helping to deliver on the objectives of Destination 2045, and Queensland’s Ecotourism Policy.

As the Project Support Officer (AO4) you will:
• Provide project and administrative support to the Program Director and Program Coordinator (AO7), as required.
• Liaise, consult and maintain good working relationships with service providers to coordinate activities for facilities, and asset management, accommodation, ICT and records management for the Ecotourism Unit and issues that arise during this coordination.
• Prepare project plans to ensure activities happen in a timely manner and prioritise business operational needs.
• Research, collect, collate and provide feedback to the Program Director on business processes and improvement initiatives as directed.
• Identify, develop or modify procedures and processes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of business administration and practices for the Unit.
• Use a range of applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, along with internal government software systems to enhance provision of administrative and project support.
• Take responsibility for the progression of ad hoc projects and administrative outcomes as directed by the Program Director.
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.

• Possesses demonstrated administration and project management skills.

• Possesses the ability identify and use resources to achieve results through prioritisation and being flexible to change.
• Demonstrates sound organisational skills and the ability to identify, assess and improve business processes and practices within the workplace.

• Possesses sound oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and liaise, consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders to meet deadlines and outcomes.

Qualifications
There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position, however prior experience working in Project Support and Administrative roles and formal qualifications or knowledge related to sustainable and regenerative Tourism would be highly regarded.
