Project Officer
Legal Services Unit; Corporate Services; Brisbane preferred- Flexible location at DLGWV offices will be considered.
Operating from within the Corporate Services branch of the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers, you will be involved in the provision of administrative and project support and advice to lawyers in the Legal Services Unit.
This support includes legal administration, practice management, administration and analysis of data, coordination of travel, inbox monitoring, and development of specific project functions.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to assist in developing business improvement measures for Legal Services, including contract and commercial, advice and litigation, and prosecutions.

Key Duties and Accountabilities
• Provide confidential administrative and project coordination and support to lawyers and departmental officers, including email support, travel and accommodation, meeting minutes, spreadsheets, procurement, human resource management and finance.
• Provide advice and support to the Legal Services Unit in relation to human resources, coordination and assistance in preparing budget, finance, WH&S,
procurement, development and maintenance of relevant SharePoint sites and reporting and administrative functions including record keeping and interpretation of departmental standards and related legislative delegations.
• Support the Legal Services Unit with a range of functions including monitoring and actioning emails, meeting coordination and administrative compliance actions.
• Liaise, consult, negotiate and maintain effective communication with staff at all levels and manage sensitive and/or confidential information in an appropriate
manner.
• Provide administrative support to the Legal Services Unit including file opening, court document management, RTI and recordkeeping.
• Participate as an effective member of a team and provide support to other team members and management to ensure priorities are met.
• Use departmental databases, information systems and Microsoft software to maintain accurate records, produce reports and statistical information.
• Other administrative and project support as directed and required.
