A vacancy currently exists for a Principal Compliance Officer, as part of the Electrical Safety Office Compliance Unit (ESOCU). Inspectors within the south-east corner of Queensland are based in our offices at Brendale, Ipswich, Logan, Maroochydore, Maryborough, Mt Gravatt, Robina and Toowoomba.

As a Principal Compliance Officer within the ESOCU, you will be part of an efficient flexible and responsive team that strives for to keep all Queenslanders safe around electricity. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Lead, organise, and conduct the ESO's state-wide compliance and engagement audit program within the unit to monitor and assess compliance with Electrical Safety legislation and where necessary enforce compliance as the holder of an Instrument of Appointment under section 123 of the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
- Assist the Lead Inspector of Investigations and the Electrical Safety Manager (ESM)-Compliance and Renewable Units in conducting complex comprehensive investigations including the taking of statements and issuing of statutory notices.
- Undertake key tasks relating to the collation of the Briefs of Evidence in matters of prosecution and where required exercise coercive inspector's powers as the holder of an Instrument of Appointment under section 123 of the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
- Liaising with the OWHSP in the submission of briefs of evidence in the required format.
- Arrange service of summonses in conjunction with the Principal Inspector, including the engagement of processes servers where required.
- Assist the unit manage witnesses throughout the trial process as required by the OWHSP.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Lead, deliver and manage the progress and delivery of correspondence, high-level reports, briefing notes and submissions across the Compliance and Renewables units. Provide high level experience in conducting research and analysis of information and data to provide reports in a timely and accurate manner regarding the progress, delivery, and outcomes of key projects/campaigns.
- Develop operational procedures including support material for the Compliance and Renewable Energy Units to improve operational efficiency and enhance future operational and strategic planning processes.
- Develop audit support information tools as required as the Unit expands into new renewable technologies.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure services are responsive to current and future needs.
