As our Principal Intelligence Officer, you will:
• Lead and mentor a team of intelligence personnel. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge & skills.
• Recruit & manage staff including work allocations, performance, development under DPI HR policy & procedures & contribute to the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) leadership in providing support to Program staff.
• Advise colleagues, senior management & as required, the Executive Leadership Team about intelligence activities, analysis impacting relevant stakeholder groups.
• Supporting your team to use intelligence tools including Open-Source Intelligence tools to gather, analyse & interpret complex data related to fire ant eradication efforts.

As our Principal Intelligence Officer, you will:
• Lead and mentor a team of intelligence personnel. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and skills.
• Recruit and manage staff including work allocations, performance, development under DPI HR policy and procedures and contribute to the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) leadership in providing support to Program staff.
• Advise colleagues, senior management and, as required, the Executive Leadership Team about intelligence activities, analysis impacting relevant stakeholder groups.
• Supporting your team to use intelligence tools including Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools to gather, analyse, and interpret complex data related to fire ant eradication efforts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various Queensland Government organisations to share intelligence, coordinate efforts, and implement strategies for fire ant eradication.
• Ensure the correct functioning of a centralised intelligence capability. Oversee the entire intelligence cycle (direction, collection, analysis, and dissemination) of intelligence to relevant stakeholders.
• Based on intelligence findings, contribute to developing and implementing strategic plans for the NFAEP.
• Prepare comprehensive reports detailing intelligence findings, trends and recommendations. Present these reports to senior management and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure all intelligence activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of intelligence tools and methodologies and implement improvements as necessary to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of intelligence operations.
