The Maritime Assets and Infrastructure (MAI) section is responsible for the strategic planning, development, maintenance, and management of maritime facilities, assets, and infrastructure to support operational readiness, safety, and service delivery across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
In In the role of Senior Advisor (Program Management), you will provide a range of services to support the management and maintenance of MSQ marine infrastructure assets.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide administrative, project, scheduling, and program coordination and advice that supports the management and maintenance of MSQ marine infrastructure assets, including recreational boating facilities and Aids to Navigation (AToNs).
• Apply the Managing Successful Projects (MSP) framework for program governance management and operate within TMR financial and program management systems such as MS Excel, 3PCM (OPPM and Unifier), and SAP.
• Undertake and/or support the development and delivery of asset management plans, project budgets, project management plans, project delivery plans, procurement plans, schedules, risk registers, and regular review and reporting mechanisms relating to MSQ's marine infrastructure assets.
• Identify, assess, and manage program-level and project-level risks to ensure the successful delivery and ongoing sustainability of marine infrastructure assets.
• Undertake and/or support financial and asset management tasks, including coordinating condition assessments, audits, capitalisation, write-off and valuation of assets, project approvals, and monthly reporting.
• Negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as MSQ Area Managers, the MSQ Marine Engineering Unit, MSQ Strategic Asset Management and Investment team, and local council officers to assist in the programming of asset inspections, risk assessments, and maintenance of marine infrastructure.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Requirements of the role:
• Applied experience in program and project management (Managing Successful Programs - MSP® or similar), including scheduling and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and managing risks related to infrastructure asset programs and maintenance activities.
• Working knowledge in financial and physical progress of projects and associated administrative matters.
• Demonstrated ability to review and assess asset management projects and program variations to ensure alignment with legislative and administrative requirements, using tools such as MS Excel, 3PCM (OPPM and Unifier), and SAP.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships, and consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, clients, and other government agencies to achieve business outcomes.
• Applies results-oriented strategies and persistence, embraces transparent progress reporting, anticipates challenges, and demonstrates resilience in overcoming obstacles.
