The role of the Human Resources Support Officer is to coordinate, implement and monitor human resource activities, processes and systems and provide a high level of administrative support for the centre.
The Human Resources team is responsible for the provision of effective, high-quality support, advice and expertise to staff and internal stakeholders. The team ensure compliance with contemporary human resource management practices and principles, including rostering, payroll, establishment management, recruitment and local business processes and practices. This close-knit team is responsive to changing priorities and workforce needs, valuing accuracy, initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.

As Human Resources Support Officer, you will specifically:
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Proven ability to interpret awards and legislation to provide timely, high-quality advice and support on a range of Human Resource functions.
• Coordinate and monitor payroll and leave processing in liaison with the Manager, Human Resources. Monitor fortnightly schedules of overtime, higher duties and other workforce arrangements.
• Coordinate and monitor the centre's human resource computerised records systems and assist the Manager, Human Resources in preparing reports and advice for other managers.
• Provide advice to, and work collaboratively with, the Manager Human Resources on operational and administrative tasks.
• Coordinate and monitor the rostering activities including the casual youth worker pool in consultation with the relevant Managers.
• Liaise as required with operational workgroups on workforce planning issues, matters of payroll, Workcover and other administrative functions.
• Provide supervision, training and mentoring to human resource administrative staff in applicable centre systems.
• Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a team in delivering support and services to staff and clients.
