Senior Project Officer

The Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning is seeking a highly skilled communicator with advanced research and writing abilities, as well as demonstrated capabilities in stakeholder engagement – both internal and external to Government – to join its Strategic Performance and Project Delivery unit, part of the broader Strategy Insights and Advisory Group.
This permanent position offers an opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in project oversight, business intelligence and legislative requirements at both the group and department level.
Additionally, your experience will contribute to fostering a high-performance culture that drives our strategic priorities (e.g. Housing – Deliver 1 million homes by 2044), leveraging research, data and analytics to inform interventions and innovations that support our strategic outcomes.

The Senior Project Officer position is part of the Strategic Performance and Project Delivery unit within the Strategy, Insights and Advisory Group at the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning.
This agile area provides strategic advice and research, supporting other business areas in advancing key departmental priorities and government initiatives, including housing, regional growth, industry development and legislation.
The primary responsibilities of this role includes but are not limited to: supporting the management of strategic projects and programs, assisting with legislative processes, contributing to the development of a performance management capability and culture, researching and drafting advice, policies, research papers and briefing materials, conducting strategic analysis and providing high-quality advice, establishing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, encouraging creativity, innovation and continuous improvement, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines, executing operational tasks and meeting performance requirements.
