This position is responsible for managing a team in the development of effective, contemporary, innovative and strategic procurement practices and contract management principles within the department, ensuring compliance with policies and legislative requirements. The role will embed and strengthen procurement governance, accountabilities, planning and policy across the agency.
About the role:
- Lead a team of 6 to achieve effective outcomes that support the business units across the department
- Support the Director, Procurement in driving procurement and integration of governance and controls to ensure accountability
- Provide advice and guidance on complex and sensitive contract matters
- Develop strong relationships through a business partnership model and engage with key stakeholders across the department
- Contribute to the Agency's Corporate Procurement Plan and ensure government reporting obligations are fulfilled
- Manage and develop the capability of the Procurement Team
- Review and develop submissions, reports and correspondence relating to procurement functions and provide targeted responses
About you:
- Enjoy working as part of a team but equally have the ability to work on your own initiative
- Good Leadership and problem-solving skills
- It would be highly desirable that you hold a Procurement Certification or similar and are able to demonstrate experience managing strategic procurement activities
- Great communication and customer service skills with external and internal stakeholders
