The Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) regional network provides localised service delivery across the departmental priority areas of employment and training. The effective departmental service delivery is achieved through the regulation of the state's apprenticeship and traineeship system, strategic training and skills investment strategies, informing consumers about the suite of departmental programs including Skilling Queenslanders for Work, supporting a quality vocational education and training (VET) sector and providing whole of government leadership on employment and training issues.
About the role:
As the Client Service Officer, you will:
• Provide accurate information, advice, and service delivery to stakeholders of Queensland's vocational education and training system on the full range of departmental programs and activities.
• Undertake a range of activities to support programs including marketing programs and services, conducting stakeholder and participant interviews, field/workplace visits, surveys, data entry and the interpretation and application of legislation and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide a range of administrative and support services including use of department information technology systems, equipment and software applications (both standard and specialised) for example word processing, spreadsheets, records management systems, event and nomination management and on-line registration processes.
What we are looking for:
The position requires an applicant who can:
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of departmental programs and services delivered through regional offices, including, targeted programs to increase participation in training and skilling, application of administrative processes, procedures, and legislative provisions.
• Demonstrate an ability to work effectively either independently and/or in a team environment, organise and prioritise work commitments, meet deadlines, share information and support colleagues.
• Apply sound organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgement within established work practices and procedures.
• Apply sound communication and interpersonal skills, interview skills, written communication skills, as well as liaison and negotiation skills, to enable effective interaction with individuals, groups, internal and external stakeholders.
