About the Role
As part of the Category and Strategic Planning team, you will collaborate closely with the Manager to plan, manage, and coordinate resources to develop and implement a category management framework tailored to TMR's centre-led, locally delivered procurement model.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the development and implementation of strategic category strategies, managing risks and opportunities with data-driven insights and extensive stakeholder engagement.
• Enhancing procurement performance and compliance across categories managed by the Chief Procurement Office (CPO).
• Building and maintaining customer-centric relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver category strategies and whole-of-government procurement initiatives.
• Driving procurement savings and operational benefits through governance, category management, value chain improvements, and capability development.
• Collaborating across TMR to embed category initiatives by integrating governance, processes, and controls within the procurement model.

Skills and Experience
To excel in this role, you will need:
• Proven experience in strategic procurement or category management, with the ability to support teams in developing strategies that deliver value for money, including social, environmental, and economic benefits.
• A track record of working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to implement change and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle shifting priorities and meet commitments.
• Accountability for delivering high-quality results through professionalism, teamwork, creative problem-solving, persistence, transparency, and sound governance.
• Due to the sensitive nature of the data handled in this role, a criminal history check will be conducted prior to appointment.
