About the role
It is the purpose of this role to:
- Deliver high quality core social work clinical services to patients and families accessing services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital who have identified child protection risk factors, to optimise the psychosocial outcomes of their utilisation of health care services.
- Work across the RBWH facility to provide consultation, education, advice, and intervention on child protection matters to reduce patient risk and optimise outcomes for children and their families.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Deliver high quality, evidence based clinical services in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and AASW Professional Practice Standards by assessing complex psychosocial needs of patients, families, and caregivers; identifying clinical risk and providing multiple clinical interventions to maximise patient health and psychosocial outcomes.
- Provide child protection advice in accordance with legislation and organisational policies across RBWH to reduce patient risk and optimise outcomes for children and their families.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, expertise and skill in Social Work assessment and risk management of complex psychosocial situations as well as interventions for patients and their families in the RBWH in relation to child protection issues
- Work cooperatively and effectively with patients, their families, and caregivers, as a member of a multidisciplinary and social work teams.
- Provide clinical education about the social work role for students and the multidisciplinary team around the delivery of social work services.
