Join Translink as our Principal Advisor (Real-Time Communications) fixed term to 2 December 2025. Play a pivotal role in shaping how we keep our customers informed, empowered, and confident in their travel decisions.
In this strategic leadership role, you'll be at the heart of the Translink Operations Centre, driving the delivery of timely, accurate, and consistent service updates across digital platforms - including the Translink website, MyTranslink app, and social media channels. Whether it's a planned event or an unexpected disruption, your work will ensure our customers receive the information they need, when they need it. Working closely with the Manager (Translink Operations Centre), you'll lead the development and implementation of a high-performing real-time communications function. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the daily journeys of thousands of Queenslanders.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and oversee the operational delivery of Translink's real-time communications function, ensuring it remains aligned with organisational objectives, policy frameworks, and customer needs within the Translink Operations Centre.
• Drive continuous improvement and optimisation, identifying and implementing business enhancements across the function, including the refinement of communication workflows and response protocols in collaboration with crossfunctional teams.
• Strengthen and manage strategic stakeholder relationships, including government agencies, delivery partners, and community representatives, to ensure effective coordination and responsiveness during planned and unplanned events
• Provide leadership and expert advice on workforce development, including recruitment, capability uplift, and change management strategies to support a highperforming, resilient real-time communications team.
Requirements of the role:
• Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate teams across multiple workstreams, delivering results under pressure and within tight or uncertain timeframes.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders on complex or sensitive issues.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain productive partnerships across a broad stakeholder network.
• Highly adaptable, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity, applying sound judgment and problemsolving to navigate uncertain or evolving situations.
