Your new opportunity
Join Queensland Treasury as the Director of Intergovernmental Relations. In this pivotal leadership role, support the Executive Director and manage a highperforming team to drive Queensland's intergovernmental relations agenda. You will shape strategic policies and agreements, navigate complex negotiations, and provide expert advice to senior management and government stakeholders at both state and national levels.

You will use your influential communication skills to maximise outcomes for Queensland, while fostering meaningful collaboration across government organisations.

 In this role, you will:
• Support the Executive Director in leading and managing the Intergovernmental Relations team to achieve a positive, collaborative, and outcome-focused team culture.
• Allocate resources to ensure work programs are delivered on time and on budget.
• Provide expert written and verbal advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring emerging intergovernmental issues are understood and addressed for optimal outcomes for Queensland.
• Build and manage effective relationships across government departments (Queensland, Australian, and other jurisdictions) to facilitate collaboration and meaningful information sharing.
• Provide strategic direction to Queensland Treasury and other Queensland Government departments to align intergovernmental activities with state priorities.
• Represent Queensland Treasury in inter-departmental and intergovernmental forums to safeguard and promote Queensland's interests.

What experience you will bring:
• Leadership in managing teams and projects under pressure while maintaining team cohesion and delivering results.
• Ability to provide expert advice that is strategic, practical, and solutions-oriented.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication tailored to diverse audiences to achieve influence.
• Proficiency in fostering collaborative relationships to enable effective information sharing and cooperation.
• Superior judgement and understanding of issues and perspectives when working with diverse stakeholders to develop solutions.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications will be are highly regarded.
