Your new opportunity
As the Director, withing the Social Policy branch, you will lead and inspire a highperforming team at Queensland Treasury to address complex policy and budgetary issues. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence significant reform initiatives, partner with key agencies, and provide strategic advice on statewide social policy initiatives. If you're passionate about making a difference in areas like child protection, disability services, and senior care, this role will empower you to drive meaningful outcomes.

In this leadership position, you will be responsible for guiding the team that oversees the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety. As part of this role, you will lead Queensland Treasury's contributions to initiatives such as the design of foundational supports to complement the National Disability Insurance Scheme and participation and response to the Queensland Child Protection Commission of Inquiry.

In this role, you will:
• Lead and manage a team to deliver expert advice on complex policy, financial management, and economic issues affecting the Queensland community.
• Provide high-level strategic advice on risk assessment and evaluation of best practice strategies.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to support collaboration and problem-solving of difficult, cross-agency policy issues.
• Actively represent Queensland Treasury in State/Federal committees and interdepartmental working groups.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of comprehensive, high-quality written and oral briefings for senior executives and ministerial offices.
• Balance competing priorities under pressure, maintaining team cohesion and achieving results.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications will be are highly regarded.
