We're seeking someone experienced in evaluating government operations, programs, and policies. You'll be committed to our vision of better public services and our mission of independent, valued assurance and insights. You will bring a strong understanding of government and public sector operations, and a passion for better public services. You're a strategic thinker who enjoys problem solving, with advanced relationship skills and an ability to influence our clients to make real change. Having a strong understanding of Queensland Government frameworks and policies (e.g., project management, procurement, asset management) is desirable. You will play a key role within the performance audit team including:
- Lead teams delivering diverse performance audits across Queensland's public sector
- Build senior-level client relationships and deliver professional presentations
- Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders, including senior leaders
- Contribute to QAO initiatives, including the forward work plan
About us
As the independent auditor of the public sector and local governments, we are vital to Queensland's integrity system. We provide independent, professional audit and assurance services, giving parliament and the public trusted assurance and insights. We have hundreds of audit clients from a wide range of industries across the beautiful state of Queensland. We help them improve their financial management and performance, so they can deliver better public services for the community. We support the Queensland Parliament in holding entities to account for the effective, efficient, and economical use of public resources. We also engage with many other stakeholders, such as integrity bodies, accounting standards boards, and Australian and international audit offices. We also offer:
- Brisbane-based role with hybrid work (office, client sites, and home)
- Salary: $166,000–$175,800 (incl. 12.75% super & 17.5% leave loading)
- Ongoing learning with formal training and tailored career development
Secondment and Mobility Opportunities:
This temporary position is open to applicants as a secondment or mobility arrangement from other Queensland public sector agencies or entities, or from other State Audit Offices across Australia.
