Translink (a Division of TMR) is responsible for enabling the effective planning and efficient management of public passenger transport services in Queensland. The Passenger Transport Strategy Technology (PTST) Branch manage and oversee the delivery and ongoing support of the Smart Ticketing system and other customer technology initiatives which aim to deliver advanced transport technologies that
provide improved public transport experiences for Queenslanders.
Key responsibilities
The purpose of the Director (Finance and Procurement) role is to lead the Passenger Transport Strategy Technology (PTST) branch financial and procurement management functions
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and direct financial control, budget management and review processes in accordance with established processes and timelines, and proactively undertake budget management analysis and investigation to provide timely response to issues identified and/ or raised.
• Lead the development and provision of authoritative advice and provide direction relating to financial requirements, policies, processes and financial analysis relating to back office financial activities and end to end financial transactional requirements for the Smart Ticketing system.
• Lead procurement activities across the Passenger Transport Strategy and Technology Branch, consulting with other Translink Procurement functions and ITB procurement as required and provide expert strategic procurement advice in line with TMR Procurement policy guidelines for complex procurement activities within the Branch.
• Lead and manage positive business relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including third party service providers.
• Leadership and people management including the management of recruitment, performance, development, team communication, and ensuring a safe and diverse work environment.

Requirements of the role
• Applies sound corporate governance and business acumen: Exercises extensive business acumen in corporate governance areas, such as financial and procurement management, project management, risk management and benefits realisation.
• Stakeholder Relationship Management: Extensive experience in building and maintaining effective relationships.
