The Department:

Crown Law is the in-house legal firm for the Queensland Government offering intellectually stimulating, professionally engaging, and personally rewarding careers. You'll join a team trusted to advise on some of the state's most complex and highprofile legal matters.

About the Roles:

Crown Law's Government Insurance and Risk Team has multiple opportunities for lawyers at PO3 and PO5 levels. These roles involve delivering insurance litigation and advisory services to the State of Queensland and its agencies. In these roles you will:

• manage a broad range of insurance litigation across all courts and tribunals;
• provide high-quality legal advice on personal injuries, public liability and medical negligence;
• conduct civil proceedings, draft pleadings and affidavits, and appear on interlocutory applications as required;
• provide clear, well-reasoned written and verbal legal advice on liability, quantum, settlement strategies and costs; and
• participate in Crown Law's high standards of client service, legal practice, and professional development.

Skills & Experience:

To succeed in these roles, you will have:

• admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland;
• at least 2 years PAE (for PO3) and at least 4 years' PAE (for PO5) experience conducting (or assisting with) insurance litigation, including personal injuries and liability claims;
• working knowledge of the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules, Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002, and Civil Liability Act 2003;
• strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage complex matters and client relationships; and
• for PO5 roles: demonstrated capacity to manage more complex files with minimal supervision.
