Principal Project Officer

The Startup Growth and Investment team develops and manages programs and initiatives to support the government’s economic growth agenda for innovation.
This position will report to the Manager, Startup Growth and Investment. You will be responsible for leading the delivery of The Precinct innovation hub and the Accelerating Female Founders program. These include the effective and accurate management of contracts with multiple suppliers to achieve optimum outcomes for our stakeholders, engagement with stakeholders to support economic growth and decision-making, as well as regular briefings to the Director, Executive Director and senior leaders.

The key requirements of this role are to:
Lead contract management of the agreement with the contracted supplier that manages The Precinct on the Queensland Government's behalf.
Lead or participate in procurement processes that support all projects to do with The Precinct.
Manage, monitor and report on program outcomes with contracted suppliers and/or program recipients in accordance with departmental procedures and policies.
Work closely with suppliers and the management accountant relating to the leasing for tenants, and the monitoring, reporting, budgeting, analysis of assets and capital expenditure of The Precinct facility, in accordance with the department's internal controls and financial management practices.
Engagement with tenants, building relationships across The Precinct's tenants, department and broader ecosystem with a view to growing business and economic opportunities.
Plan and attend events, representing the team, division, department and government.
Other project and program management as required.
Work strategically to actively solve problems and deliver outcomes and results in a fast paced, high pressure environment while maintaining professional processes and protocols.
Produce a variety of written documentation, from meeting and briefing documents, to strategic documents, speeches, Ministerial correspondence and briefing materials as required.
Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
