This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of Australia’s most successful biosecurity programs. The Wet Tropics Management Authority welcomes applications for a Field Coordinator to join the Yellow Crazy Ant Eradication Program’s operational team.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated individual who is enthusiastic and driven to improve the protection and management of the World Heritage Area.

You will play a key role in driving field operations including the monitoring, surveillance, and treatment of yellow crazy ants and compliance with the Biosecurity Act 2014 in relation to yellow crazy ant management.

Your contribution as Field Coordinator will require you to:
• coordinate and supervise field teams to carry out surveillance, treatment and monitoring of yellow crazy ants
• coordinate tasks to ensure efficiency and delivery of services under the guidance of the Senior Field Coordinator and Team Leader Operations
• conduct field work with field teams on a regular basis to provide support and ensure high survey and treatment standards are maintained
• address and resolve staff HR matters as they arise in consultation with the Senior Field Coordinator and Team Leader Operations
• foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people

We're looking for someone with:
• experience in coordinating, supervising and inducting field teams
• experience in addressing and resolving complex HR management issues
• communication and interpersonal skills to work well with a wide range of stakeholders
• skills in work program planning, implementation, and review
• experience in the use of ArcGIS, smart devices and Office 365, including SharePoint or the rapid ability to acquire these skills 
• an understanding of the management of pest eradication and natural resource management
• knowledge and compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, incident and hazard reporting, and safe work practices
