As a Senior Procurement Governance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping best practices, supporting high-impact procurement activities, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure compliance, transparency and alignment with government policies and priorities.
QCS is seeking an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Governance Officer to join its Procurement and Contract Management Group (PCMG). PCMG partners with QCS business units in delivering support and advice across the procurement lifecycle based on QCS priorities, needs and objectives. PCMG is focused on procuring for good by advancing the government's economic, environmental and social objectives.

Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) contributes to a fair, safe and just Queensland by managing custodial facilities and supporting the rehabilitation of offenders within and outside our facilities. It assists crime prevention through the humane containment, supervision and rehabilitation of offenders in correctional centres and the community.
The Senior Procurement Governance Officer role is a vacant position. In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for maintaining and enhancing procurement and contract management governance framework, ensuring that procurement and contract management processes are conducted efficiently, ethically and in compliance with legislative, statutory and policy obligations. You will help drive continuous improvement, innovation and best practices in procurement and contract management, contributing to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of QCS operations.

In this role you will have:
- Extensive experience in the application of best practice procurement and contract management, particularly within a government or large organisational context.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High-level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of procurement legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management and compliance within procurement.
- Demonstrated experience in displaying a client focused attitude and applying personal initiative to provide accurate, impartial and forthright advice to colleagues, stakeholders and clients to ensure the delivery of quality services.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and operationalising procurement procedures

- A sound understanding of Queensland Government procurement frameworks, legislation, and ethical standards.
- Strong analytical and risk management skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, outcomesfocused environment.
- Experience using procurement and contract management systems (such as VendorPanel, SAP Ariba, or similar platforms) to support sourcing, compliance, and reporting activities.
