In the role of Planner (Statutory Planning), you will:
• Assist in whole-of-department reviews and developing responses to complex development projects, including:
• Major development projects undertaking an Environmental Impact Statement assessed by the Office of the Coordinator-General and the Department of Environment and Science.
• Priority Development Area development schemes and development applications through Economic Development Queensland (EDQ).
• Key planning and infrastructure plans including regional plans, planning schemes, ministerial infrastructure designations, structure plans, master plans and similar.
• Assist in managing timely, reasonable, and relevant planning outcomes by providing advice and leading the development of complex briefs to senior management on the risks and benefits of proposed options.
• Provide land use planning advice on matters to deliver integrated land use and transport outcomes in Queensland.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Developed town planning experience and skills relating to the provision of advice and supporting negotiations on land use planning matters.
• Ability to support whole-of-department reviews of strategic planning projects and development applications referred to TMR through the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, Department of Environment and Science, Economic Development Queensland and other relevant agencies to the department.
• Ability to work with stakeholders within your team and across and external to TMR to achieve outcomes.
• Well-developed written and spoken communication and the ability to interpret and communicate technical material to technical and less technical stakeholders.
• Ability to achieve quality results through professionalism, persistence and management of resources.
