Our purpose is to safeguard Queensland's unique biodiversity, now and for future generations.

We are currently seeking an experience Conservation Officer to join our Threatened Species Operations, Aquatic Research and Monitoring Team. In this role you will be responsible for providing scientific advice for threatened species conservation and management, monitoring programs for priority threatened species, undertaking research to inform species and threat management, identification of research gaps, fostering and growing partnerships with research institutions, sharing knowledge (through publications, reports, media, conferences), delivering training, and data management.

As a Conservation Officer you will be involved in coordinating ongoing and emerging research and monitoring programs. These programs aim to monitor populations, identify threats, and make recommendations to management for the conservation of threatened aquatic (marine, freshwater & estuarine) species in Queensland. This will include assisting with data analysis, and communication of results through scientific publications, reports, and oral presentations. You will be expected to work effectively with a broad array of partners and project stakeholders including QPWS&P rangers, local, state and federal government agencies, academic institutions, non-government organisations, indigenous ranger groups, and private landholders. You will also contribute as part of a team to organisation, preparation and conducting field work including: pre and post trip vehicle, vessel and equipment maintenance.
