About us

The Role
In the role of the Senior Engineer (Civil) you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects, provide technical expertise and support to the design, planning, construction, and maintenance processes. In doing this you will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
•Perform duties as the administrator for the delivery of nominated contracts.
•Undertake reviews of the contract documents, analyse offers, manage and program preconstruction, construction, and maintenance activities.
•Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components,
and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
•Evaluate and design safe and effective traffic devices for the Region in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental guidelines.
•Manage and co-ordinate contract performance, design, construction and maintenance practices by ensuring that efficient procedures are implemented, and best practice is achieved. Responsible for the management and performance of the various contracts such as TIC-CO, Design consultants, independent advisors and PUPs and so on; Monthly high quality financial and performance reporting by using TMR reporting system such as, 3PCM unifier and other reporting systems, as required.
•Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the planning, design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
•Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with all levels of internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to transport infrastructure delivery activities.
•In managing projects, you will have the responsibility to plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff that would include encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude toward the achievement of
outcomes.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington
Accord benchmarks.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.
• A current Class ‘C' Drivers Licence
• Pre-employment checks, including a criminal history screening and declaration of serious discipline history will required to be completed.
• Must be eligible to work in Australia.
