The primary purpose of the position is to lead & delivery an integrated & customer aligned service delivery model across the region. The role is accountable for the day-to-day operations of South East Queensland Operations (SEQO) & leads a team responsible for the planning, scheduling & delivery of all operational services to customers as well as the proactive & upstream contract management & supervision of industry-based service providers. This role is Temporary, for a duration of four(4) years.

About the Role:
The role works closely with the QBuild Executive team and other Regional Directors to ensure customers receive well planned, value driven services continuously for both Southern Queensland and the Electronic Security Services team, providing robust and innovative people management frameworks that promote staff development, celebration of success and specified focus on workplace health and safety.
The role works in partnership with the Regional Business Director SEQ accepting joint responsibility for the utilisation of smart and upstream contract management and procurement processes and the necessary capability into the Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct business model.
Duties and skills involved:
- Lead a team to deliver operational excellence and ensure customer requirements are constantly delivered across the statewide electronic security contracts.
- Ensure the development and delivery of expert building construction and maintenance procurement and contract management services to our customers in line with government priorities.
- Ensure all operational building, construction and maintenance services including service maintenance are efficiently and effectively planned, communicated and delivered to meet customers and Governments requirements and to ensure value for money for the state of Queensland.
- Create and implement systems and processes that efficiently deploy the delivery of all operational building, construction and maintenance services to our customers including an agreed focus on disaster and emergency recovery, service maintenance and asbestos management
- Implement a contractor performance management model that supports the successful delivery of a large scale contract with an approx. value of over $60 Million to ensure accurate and timely reporting and strategic advice to the Executive Director SEQ in relation to all operational facets of Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct and performance management for staff and contractors.
- Positively represent the Department of Housing and Public Works, to ensure effective and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders across industry, community and Government.
- Actively support and implement quality human resource management policies and practices to achieve a motivated, satisfied and skilled workforce that is client focussed, informed about the business, and ready to meet the challenges of changing business needs.
- Promote a positive, safe and healthy work environment for all staff, contractors, clients and the public, to ensure that all QBuild employees understand and comply with equity and anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- It is desirable that the successful applicant will be required to hold a current driver's license.
- Background and proven experience working in a Correctional Centre environment.
