In this role, you will:
• Supervise and support a team of Transport Inspectors, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
• Lead roadside inspections, audits, and investigations to ensure compliance with transport legislation.
• Provide expert advice and education to the public, industry stakeholders, and other government agencies.
• Manage operational programs, rosters, and budgets to meet performance targets.
• Contribute to the development of compliance strategies and legislative improvements.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Experience or the ability to develop expertise in interpreting transport legislation and compliance standards.
• A current ‘C' class driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle with at least third-party property insurance.
• The ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, and travel across the state as required.
• A commitment to safety, ethical decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Government (Investigation), First Aid certification, and mechanical experience or related qualifications.
