As a Principal Advisor, you will coordinate, actively participate and contribute to projects and teams involved with the development and delivery of transport system outcomes and strategy in consultation and cooperation with stakeholders. This role provides the opportunity to carry out a variety of challenging work with important outcomes for Queensland's transport system.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Manage and participate in project teams, comprising internal and external resources, to develop and implement strategic policy, and ensure that branch projects are completed within quality, cost and time constraints.
• Provide authoritative, strategic and tactical advice on tolling related policies, legislative issues and commercial proposals taking into account many varied perspectives and negotiate and influence positive outcomes.
• Develop, prepare and present comprehensive, high-quality submissions, reports, briefs and policy/research papers within tight timeframes for senior and executive management.
• Identify, research, analyse and provide advice on the development of concepts, policies, models and strategies which contribute to broad government and organisational objectives, including road infrastructure, sustainable transport systems and alternative funding models.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Experience in leading or participating in project teams and critically analysing project proposals.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, collaborating across multiple business areas and with external agencies to support team objectives.
• Ability to work both collaboratively in a team and autonomously with minimal direction to achieve business goals and deadlines.
• Experience in drafting high quality correspondence, reports, briefs and papers to facilitate accurate and timely decision making, supported by strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
