The Parole Board Queensland was established as an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independent from influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).
As an independent decision-making body, the Board receives information from a range of people, service providers and organisations. The Board scrutinizes the information it is provided with and maintains public confidence in the parole decision-making process through transparency in its processes.
The Secretariat is a business unit established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division in QCS. The Secretariat supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS’ statutory obligations relating to the operations of the Board.

We need you to have exceptional communication skills, work effectively with senior and executive management, the ability to quickly interpret instructions and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage sensitive and confidential matters, provide administrative advice, maintain relationships, take initiative with minimal direction, and resolve conflicts while managing interactions between the public and the Parole Board.
Your day to day will include providing high-level confidential administrative and executive support to the President and Chief Administrative Officer, managing their diary and emails, coordinating meetings, and overseeing follow-up actions. You will handle human resource documentation, financial reconciliations, procurement activities, correspondence preparation and scheduling for senior executives, while ensuring effective communication between the Board and Queensland Corrective Services. Additionally, you will manage administrative workflows, maintain compliance with departmental procedures, provide coaching to staff, liaise with stakeholders, ensure confidentiality as well as coordinate logistics for executive engagements and speaking events.
