We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced procurement professional to join QBCC as a Principal Procurement Officer. In this permanent role, you’ll provide high-level sourcing and contract management advice while driving strategic procurement planning across the organisation. As part of a high-performing team, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders to build and maintain a procurement function that delivers expert guidance, ensures compliance, and supports the Commission’s strategic objectives.

As the Principal Procurement Officer, you will play a key role in supporting QBCC's strategic and operational goals by providing expert sourcing and contract management advice. You'll lead complex, high-value procurement processes, support the development of procurement and contract management plans, and ensure alignment with Queensland Government policies. This role also involves strategic planning, maintaining procurement frameworks, overseeing compliance and performance reporting, and delivering internal education and training to uplift capability across the organisation. You'll also lead probity planning and act as a probity advisor where appropriate.
To succeed in this role, you'll demonstrate the Leadership Competencies for Queensland at the Team Leader level. You'll lead strategically, stimulate innovation, and build strong relationships across teams. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality outcomes, demonstrating sound governance, and applying your deep technical knowledge of end-to-end procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, and risk mitigation. Your strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to influence stakeholders will be key to your success.

The position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will have the option to work from home under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.
