QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About the role

You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing a high level of interface with our customers. Reporting to the District Manager Far West, the role ensures QBuild customers' needs are met through local responses aligned to state-wide strategies and consistency of experience that customers have with QBuild.

Duties and skills involved:

  • Developing and proactively managing customer accounts to promote QBuild with local customers, ensuring a deep understanding of their existing arrangements, assets and future needs, while applying key account management and business development strategies.
  • Collaborating with regional teams to deliver programs and projects within agreed customer requirements, ensuring value-based outcomes through cross-functional collaboration and strategic planning.
  • Maintaining a customer database and accurate records of customer-related information to produce reports and snapshots for senior management, leveraging data analysis to inform decision-making and future planning.
  • Interpreting and analysing customer data to ensure visibility of future regional developments, forward planning pipeline of work and addressing risks and issues in collaboration with regional teams.
  • Assessing threats and opportunities based on customer information and recommending strategic options to meet customers' expectations, demonstrating strategic critical thinking and leadership.
  • Undertaking strategic measures for continual improvement and output performance through regular feedback from customers and Program Managers, fostering strong relationship management and customer engagement.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for local customers, managing their expectations, ensuring alignment with QBuild's strategic objectives and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Scheduling regular account management meetings, site visits with customers and participating actively with a strategic approach in regional customer meetings, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
